Series info and concept
An Australian factual TV series, Territory Cops has premiered on Crime and Investigation Network in 2012. It took a long time for the future of the show to be worked out, but it was eventually transferred to Network Ten, where the second season finally debuted on March 15, 2016, airing twice weekly. The show is produced by Eyeworks Australia and narrated by the Australian actor John Jarratt.
Territory Cops follows the work of police officers in Australia`s Northern Territory. Over 1.3 million of harsh and remote terrain, colorful characters and a crime scene that`s no picnic to deal with. Strange, dangerous and funny moments of the police service are portrayed in this observational documentary.
Current season and renewal prospects
The current season consists of eight episodes. Police officers in Darwin, a town with the highest per capita crime rate in the country and perhaps the busiest police station, is at the focus of this reality series. Among the cases portrayed some are downright overboard like the family who has 500 convictions between its five adult members, or the young female drunk driver who is mostly worried about the color of her future prison uniform after being arrested. The latest in filming technology is used as three different storylines are followed in each episode. The show is of interest to many, and will hopefully find steady audience support to carry it over into the next season. Stay tuned for a network announcement regarding a possible third season of Territory Cops.
