About the series

The Venture Bros is a veteran US animated television series that`s been running on Adult Swim since 2003. It is, in fact, the longest running Adult Swim program that is still on the air. The series is created by Jackson Publick, executive produced by Jackson Publick, Doc Hammer, Keith Crofford and Mike Lazzo, and is currently produced by Astro Base GO!, Titmouse, Inc and Williams Street. The genre mix is incredible here, with black comedy, action, science fiction and drama intertwined. The long-awaited eight-episode sixth season debuted on January 31, 2016, the series` first premiere since 2013.

The plot chronicles the life of the Venture clan – teenage brothers Hank and Dean Venture, their insecure scientist father Dr. Thaddeus “Rusty” Venture, the family`s psycho bodyguard agent Brock Samson, ex-pedophile Sergeant Hatred and butterfly-themed super villain The Monarch. The series` main reference point is Jonny Quest, the 1960s science fiction television series, which it spoofs in an affectionate yet biting manner.

The creators of The Venture Bros have claimed that the main theme of the series is failure and its beauty. The series is deemed by many to be one of the funniest cartoons for those with a taste for a mature-themed, sharp-tongued social parody with heavy absurdist overtones and clever dialogue.
