Basic info and storyline

Last Hope with Troy Dunn is a new American investigative television docu-drama that follows real life missing persons expert and best selling author Troy Dunn as he helps people reunite with their long lost loved ones. The series premiered on September 10, 2015 on the UP channel.

Motivational speaking and best selling author, Troy Dunn is an expert at finding people who have long been out of contact with their families and helps facilitate their inspirational reunions. Using a combination of modern technology, social media, and good old fashioned detective work, Dunn gives viewers an unprecedented look inside his unconventional approach to finding the unfindable.

In the series premier of season 1, titled “Our Secret Brother”, Dunn meets with Gary and Debra, who as teenagers had a son but were forced to give him up for adoption. The two married after college and had two daughters, but never gave up hope of finding their first born. With Dunn’s help, the couple hopes they can finally find the missing piece of their biological family.

In another episode, the audience meets Charles — a self-proclaimed “wild child” who left his wife and two small children to pursue stardom in Hollywood. After many years, Charles returned to his home town with a new wife and two other kids (Rick and Lisa) in hopes of finding his first two children. Years of unsuccessful searching did not produce many leads and Charles passed away without ever making amends. Now his youngest son Rick has asked Troy Dunn to help him find his half-siblings so that he can let them know that their father continued to love them until his death.

The series is produced by DunnDeal Studios, and executive produced by the star of the series. There has been no word from UP channel regarding a possible renewal for season 2.
