Summary and plot

Educating Cardiff is a British reality television program that follows the line of the previous Educating... series. Channel 4 announced the follow up to Educating the East End in December of 2014 and producers looked throughout Scotland, Ireland and Wales for months before settling on Willows High School in Cardiff. The show premiered on Channel 4 on August 25, 2015.

The series builds on the BAFTA-winning series Educating Essex (2011), Educating Yorkshire (2013) and Educating the East End (2014). Here, the producers stick to the same template – put cameras and microphones in every crevice of a school and wait for the stories.

Educating Cardiff follows every day detail of a modern-day high school life. Head teacher Joy Ballard and her colleagues are on a mission to turn Willows High around and transform it from one of the worst schools in the country into a school the community can be proud of. Of course the students often steal the spotlight with their crushes, relationship struggles, learning curves and pranks.

Since the Educating... series producers do not usually put out a second season of any one school show, it’s unlikely that viewers will see season 2 of Educating Cardiff. However, history shows that Channel 4 made the right choice with the format for the docu-series and a follow up of the Educating... series should definitely air late summer of 2016.
