The Woodsmen is an American survival reality television series that follows the lives of five men living in uninhabited forests of the US Pacific Northwest. These men belong to the mostly unknown group of people who choose to live off the land and be free of the restraints put on the society by modernization. The first season of The Woodsmen premiered on the History Channel on June 22, 2015.

Mike, Steve, Ethan, Aza and Jay have all chosen to leave the modern life of the city and live a life where they build their own shelter, and hunt and forage for food. They climb trees in the thick forests of the Pacific Northwest, live in primitive homes, and do everything they can to survive hot summers and harsh winters of the region. Some have highly developed survival skills, others are just learning, but they all prefer their new unforgiving home to the life they used to live. Their survival fully depends on their physical abilities and how well they can cooperate with each other.

There hasn’t been much of official news on the ratings of this series, but it does seem that it’s enjoying a steady viewer base. Although no official news on the future of the show has been released, survival reality TV is quite popular and it’s very possible that we will see The Woodsmen Season 2 some time in the near future.
