Basic info and plot

Created by Kay Mellor, The Syndicate is a British drama television series that follows the lives of lottery pool member who go from poor to rich in one minute after they hit the jackpot. With each season featuring a different cast, this series began airing in March of 2012. The Syndicate Season 3 premiered on BBC One on June 2, 2015.

In this series, each season focuses on a different group of people who find out that their betting pool won the lottery. Season 1 featured five supermarket employees, season 2 – six hospital workers, and season 3 is set in a stately home in Yorkshire, where the home’s employees learn that they came up with the winning numbers.

In season 3, five employees of Hazelwood Manor spend years using statistical analysis to pick the winning numbers in the nationwide lottery. When their jobs are in dire straits with the home coming to a state of financial despair, they finally hit it big, winning a 14 million British pound jackpot.

Current season, ratings and renewal chances

Although there hasn’t been any official news from the producers on the fate of the show, The Syndicate dominates BBC One’s ratings with an average of over 5 million viewers per episode. Witty and hopeful with a dash of suspense, this comedy definitely has a future and we hope to soon hear the news on a possible The Syndicate series 4 renewal.
