Basic info and plot
Secrets and Wives is an American reality television series that follows the lives of six wealthy Long Island women as they face the obstacles of marriage and divorce. Having grown up together, these ladies know everything about each other and come together to support and help one another as they go through the challenges they encounter. Receiving negative reviews, Secrets and Wives Season 1 premiered on Bravo on June 2, 2015.
This series greatly resembles The Real Housewives, with the difference that the ladies have known each other for over 20 years and are long-time friends. Otherwise, this show is also about an ultra-wealthy group of women and rivals, who face life, separation, engagement and many other things. The cast consists of a three-time divorcée Andi, businesswomen Susan and Cori, perfectionist and workaholic Gail, recently engaged Amy, and recently divorced Liza.
Current season, ratings and renewal chances
Although the series echoes the The Real Housewives series, it has definitely not collected as good of ratings, scoring 4.5 out of 10 on IMDB. The first season’s viewership hovers around half a million and the critics’ reviews have been largely negative. Whatever the ratings, it is enjoyable to see these women treat each other like real friends, something that’s missing with all the screeching and cross promotion that is prevailing on the Housewives franchise. Although we don’t have any official news on the series future, we hope to Secrets and Wives Season 2 some time in the future.
