Storyline and production info

Rich in Faith, a new reality series on Oxygen, offers an inside look into the life of the church. The show is produced by Magical Elves, Jason Kennedy Productions and You & I Productions, and debuted on December 9, 2015.

Rich Wilkerson is a fourth-generation pastor. He and his wife DawnCheré are young pastors in the Vous church that they have founded after serving in Trinity Church in Miami with Rich`s parents for eight years. Rich Wilkerson first appeared in the media spotlight when he was the one to seal the marriage of celebrities Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in Florence, Italy. This series has nothing to do with the famous couple, instead, it focuses on the challenges that the young pastor couple faces on their way to organizing an innovative ministry that breaks stereotypes about religion, as well as their path together as a young family trying to balance their marriage and spiritual work.

Audience reception and renewal prospects

The series is one in over a dozen of new shows that the re-branded Oxygen network is offering its viewers in the end of 2015. The fresh take on religion is bound to find viewers` appreciation. It is a subject that naturally interests people, but doesn`t get much genuine exposure on TV beyond the regular Bible channel or shows like Preachers of LA, which has been widely criticized for misrepresentation of the preachers. This series is promising, but it`s still unclear how the audience will react to it, as it goes through the eight one-hour episodes. Oxygen has not yet announced a decision regarding the fate of Rich in Faith, so stay tuned for the news.
