About the show
Rude Tube is a British comedy / reality television series airing alternatively on Channel 4 and its sister channel, E4 since 2008. The pilot episode of the series came out in February 2008, attracting over 10% of the audience, which amounted to over 2.5 million viewers. It is produced by October Films, executive produced by Adam Billmore and presented by Adam Zane and Matt Kirshen. The show also airs on the Fusion channel in the United States. The series spawned several Christmas and New Year specials, as well as a 20-episode spinoff series Rude(ish) Tube. The current tenth season debuted on January 11, 2016.
The program is a collection of popular – whether by virtue of being interesting, bizarre, scary, daring, wacky or hysterically funny – clips from Youtube. The format is usually that of a countdown, with 50 or 100 viral videos per episode, with short interviews with viral video creators and stars inserted inbetween. The episodes are usually themed – Viral Ads, Ultimate Stunts, Total Fails and Naughty and Naked are some of the titles.

More and more television series draw on the vast pool of internet material, which only seems natural, especially when a younger audience is targeted. Some of the video content definitely requires viewer discretion, as some of it may be gory, plain rude or explicit.
