Show information and plot
A teen fantasy/supernatural drama series, Wolfblood has been broadcast on CBBC since 2012. The current fourth series, comprised of 12 episodes, premiered on March 8, 2016. It is created by Debbie Moon and produced by BBC. The fourth series is written by Wolfblood veterans Neil Jones and Sophie Petzal, along with two new additions to the team – Furuquan Akhtar and Matt Sinclair, who are co-writing.
Wolfblood follows werewolves, who have been living among humans for centuries and disguised themselves. As if the difficulties that go with being a teenager weren`t enough, the three lead characters discover that they are Wolfbloods.
Awards, current series and renewal potential
The current series takes the action outside Stoneybridge for the first time. Jana (Leona Vaughn) moves up to the plot forefront, embarking on an independent journey in a big city. The new setting and the new updates and twists play out very well, adding a new dimension to the show universe, without losing the tension and the mystery of the plot.
The series has earned several important accolades, including two British Academy Children`s Awards, a Royal Television Award, and a British Screenwriters` Awards. Wolfblood has an 8.1/10 IMDb score and is praised for its serious exploration of the difficulties entailed in growing up and fitting in. There is a good chance for a renewal, but no decision has been made by CBBC yet, so please stay tuned for further information.
