About the show
Casual is a new American comedy available exclusively through the online streaming service Hulu. Created by Zander Lehmann and executive produced by Academy Award nominee, Jason Reitman, Helen Estabrook and Liz Tigelaar, the series debuted on Hulu on October 7, 2015 and the 13-episode second season premiered on June 7, 2016 with two back-to-back episodes.
Casual follows a dysfunctional family of Alex (Tommy Dewey), a bachelor and co-founder of a dating site called Snooger, and his sister Valerie (Michaela Watkins), a successful psychologist who is going through a divorce. Together, they coach each other through the insane world of online and off-line dating, while cohabiting again for the first time since childhood. Set in Los Angeles, the series also stars Tara Lynne Barr as Valerie’s daughter, Laura, and Nyasha Hatendi as Alex’s begrudged friend, Leon.
