About the series

Created by Israeli company Armoza Formats, I Can Do That is an American comedy entertainment television series that follows six star entertainers that rival each other in proving that they can learn new skills that will complement their acts. In the US, I Can Do That Season 1 premiered on NBC on May 26, 2015.

In the first season of this series, Cheryl Burke, Joe Jonas, Ciara, Alan Ritchson, Nicole Scherzinger and Jeff Dye competed with each other for the title of The Greatest Entertainer over the course of six weeks. At the beginning of each week, the entertainers showcased their talent in one chosen act and were told by their friendly rivals which skill they had to learn in order to improve that act. After training for one week, the competitors came back to show the new and improved act and hoped for the best vote from the audience, as there are no judges on the show. The celebrity with the most votes got the highest number of points and moved on in the competition. At the end, only one was given the Trophy and was titled The Greatest Entertainer.

Ratings, reviews and possible renewal

This series has received critical acclaim and great viewer ratings, scoring 7.4 on IMDb. The first season’s viewership fluctuated quite a bit, but did go up between the first episode and the finale – 6.4 million to 7.07 million viewers. As such, it’s not surprising that NBC announced in July of 2015 that the series will be renewed for another season and we will definitely see I Can Do That Season 2 slated for release sometime in 2016. Fans will need to stay tuned for an exact premiere date.
