Series` background and cast

A legendary British comedy / drama television series that was broadcast on ITV for 5 series between 1998 and 2003, Cold Feet is back to great joy of its loyal audience. The series was created by Milke Bullen and produced by Granada Television. It has won four out of five “Best TV Comedy Drama”, and has received over 20 major awards all in all. Cold Feet has aired in over 34 countries and has also been localized in the USA and Europe. The series was shot on film stock in order for it to look more sophisticated and to distinguish it from other sitcoms. The series has found success both with the critics and the viewers, with over 10 million tuning in to see the last episode in 2003.

The series follows three thirty-something couples, their lives, their romantic entanglements, family lives, social and professional relationships. Among the issues that Cold Feet touched upon are abortion, adultery, divorce, separation, dealing with parenthood, parental death, drug use and sexual problems.

The new season after the reunion

The five key members of the cast – James Nesbitt (Adam), John Thomson (Pete), Fay Ripley Jenny), Hermione Norris Karen) and Robert Bathurst (David) – are reunited by the brand new series 13 years after the last broadcast series. Helen Baxendale`s character, Rachel, died in a car crash in the last series. The brand new series of Cold Feet will begin filming in Manchester in March 2016 and will bring the viewers back into the gang`s life thirteen years after Rachel`s death, “as they tip-toe through the minefield of middle age”, as the series` creator and writer Mike Bullen put it. The new chapter will contain eight parts, and further details are yet to be announced.

UPDATED July 12, 2016: The release of the highly anticipated sixth series of Cold Feet, an all-time audience favorite series that was on hiatus since 2003, is getting closer. The latest network announcement promises the fans an eight-episode sixth series premiere in the fall of 2016. All members of the original cast are back except Helen Baxendale, who turned down the offer to return to the revamped version of the show 13 years later.
