Series information and storyline

Bob`s Burgers is an animated sitcom airing in the United States on Fox since 2012. The series is created by Loren Bouchard, who`s also behind the development of Home Movies, executive produced by Bouchard and Jim Dauterive and produced by Bento Box Entertainment and Wilo Productions. The last completed sixth season of Bob`s Burgers premiered on September 27, 2015.

Bob`s Burgers is the struggling family enterprise of the Belcher family – Bob, Linda and their kids, Tina, Louise and Gene. The series is set in a fictional and generic small shore town in the Northeast of the US and features Bob`s Burgers restaurant striving to achieve success, fighting competition, serving its regular customers, but actually the focus of the series is on the Belcher family dynamics.

Reviews, growing popularity and renewal

The series has originally received mixed reviews, mostly for the vulgarity that could rival that of Family Guy and did not strike the critics as appropriate. However, as time went by, the show has developed, transformed and grew into its second season, and the reviewers also grew much more receptive to it. In 2014 Bob`s Burgers scored a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, and in the later years added a Writer`s Guild of America Award, an Artios Award and two Annie Awards to its collection. The viewership ratings did slide significantly over the course of the animated sitcom`s run, from an average of 5.07 million per episode for the freshman season to 2.9 million viewers per episode for the last completed installment. Despite the ratings issues, less than two weeks into the sixth season broadcast the network commissioned the series for two more seasons, seven and eight.
