About the show
Hell`s Kitchen is a cooking competition reality TV series created and presented by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The series follows the format of its eponymous British original. Hell`s Kitchen has been on the air since 2005 and is now in its 15th season which premiered on HBO on January 15, 2016. Starting with the third episode the series was moved from Friday nights to Wednesday nights. ITV Studios America and A. Smith & Co. Productions are the companies behind the production.
The series is set in an elimination format, with the chefs competing in two teams for the first part of the season, and when all but five or six are eliminated, the individual competition begins. The winner receives two truly life-changing prizes – US $250,000 cash and the exciting opportunity to work at one of Ramsay`s restaurants as head chef or executive chef.
Ratings and renewal
Cooking competition series have a steady audience, and Hell`s Kitchen is no exception, with its long history and the celebrity host. The latest episode that aired on February 3, 2016, scored a 1.5 rating and a share of 5 in the 18-49 demographic, with 4.68 million total viewers. This is a significant increase compared to the previous season which averaged 3.5 million viewers per episode. Following the wrap up of season 13, the series has already been renewed through season 16, so its fate is more or less clear for the near future. Gordon Ramsay`s passion and explosive personality are likely to ensure the series` further comebacks.

The NBC network was the first to unveil its 2016 fall schedule, and yesterday FOX followed suit and announced the premiere dates for its new and returning TV programs. Television’s most intense and raw cooking competition show Hell’s Kitchen and its tough host Gordon Ramsay will be back on the small screen in the US with a 16th cycle on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT, followed by the series premiere of The Exorcist at 9pm.
