About the series

Fargo is a US crime drama and black comedy anthology television series that debuted on April 15, 2014 on FX. Created by Noah Hawley, and inspired by the Cohen brothers 1996 same-name film, premiered on April 15, 2014. The second season debuted on October 12, 2015 and on November 23, 2015 FX officially announced its renewal for the third season in 2016/2017.

A criminal drama is unfolding in a small town in Minnesota. Brutal, cynical, tightly structured, peculiar, Fargo features precise dialogue and excellent performances by Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons, Jean Smart and Ted Danson. A covered-up hit-and-run murder, a triple homicide tied to a crime family led by a matriarch, Ronald Reagan campaigning nearby – all of these and more troubling events take place against a peculiarly Midwestern 1979 background as two law enforcement officers investigate the crimes and the connections between them.

Season 1 cast, which included first-magnitude stars like Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, received universal acclaim from the critics and excellent viewer ratings, and the support that season 2 has received has managed to match it. After a 40% drop in viewership numbers for the premiere of Fargo`s second season, it has regained its place, and by the third episode in it was already easy to predict that the show would be picked up by FX for another season, as it was recently announced to the delight of its many fans. The exact date of the release is still unknown,
