Basic info and storyline
Club de Cuervos is a new American Spanish-language comedy series available exclusively on the online media streaming provider Netflix. Produced by Gaz Alazraki of Alazraki Entertainment, and written by Mike Lam, season 1 of the series was released on August 7, 2015.
Filmed entirely in Mexico, Club de Cuervos is the first exclusively Spanish language series that follows billionaire Mexican siblings power struggle over the family-owned soccer team. Created by former roommates Michael Lam and Gaz Alazraki, whose hit film Nosotros Los Nobles, the dramedy stars Mariana Trevino, Stephanie Cayo, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, Ianis Guerrero and Antonio de la Vega. Designed not just for a Mexican audience, but for the entire soccer-loving community, the show has been described as this summer’s “most binge-worthy delight.”
In season 1 of Club de Cuervos, viewers are thrust into a family feud of mega proportions. Triggered by the death of the family patriarch, the siblings battle over who will gain control of a beloved professional soccer team. The laugh-out-loud comedy, which also features plenty of drama and Latin stereotypes, has been a mega-hit with audiences and critics alike.
So is there enough storyline to continue with Club de Cuervos season 2? At the moment, Netlix has made no announcements regarding a potential renewal, but based on the uber popularity of the show, audiences will likely be tuning into a second season sometime in 2016.

UPDATED October 30, 2015: On October 28, 2015 Netflix finally announced the official renewal of its first Spanish-language series, Club de Cuervos for season 2. Several of the series’ stars revealed the news in a sequence of videos that were posted to the its official Twitter account. These days, it seems that Twitter is the most popular medium to announce a renewal of a popular show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the premiere date for Club de Cuervos season 2 has not been officially confirmed, but filming is slated to start in Mexico for a 2016 premiere.
UPDATED October 20, 2016: Netflix’ popular Spanish-language series Club de Cuervos is returning with its second season very soon. The release date has been confirmed, and the show will be back on December 9, 2016. The freshman installment was mostly positively received by critics and viewers, and hopefully the second season, will be just as compelling. The upcoming installment will portray Isabel trying to prove herself worthy of potentially becoming president after her brother Chava makes many mistakes on this path.
