About the show
Masters of Sex is an American drama television series that is loosely based on the biography by Thomas Maier of the same name. The series first went on the air in September of 2013 and has had a very successful three-season run. Season 3 of the show premiered on July 12, 2015 on Showtime.
William Masters and Virginia Johnson are pioneering researchers in the field of human sexuality at Washington University in St. Louis. A bit ahead of their time, they use patients, prostitutes, friends and each other to bring to the world knowledge and ways to make relationships more meaningful. Being escalated to fame very quickly, they may not be able to cope with it, as their relationship changes from a professional cooperation to a three-way that involves William Master’s wife Libby.
Masters of Sex has received critical acclaim for each of its seasons. The series was nominated for numerous awards, including the Critic’s Choice and Golden Globe. Pushing the boundaries of social norms, this show is provocative, exciting and alluring. It is no wonder that following the end of the third season, Showtime announced that it is renewing the series for a 12-episode fourth season. We will be patiently waiting for Masters of Sex season 4 to come out in 2016.
