Pacific Warriors is a new American adventure reality television show that focuses on the lives of Hawaiian fishermen. Produced by Original Media, the series premiered on October 23, 2015.

There are many ways to fish, but fishing out of a kayak in the shark-infested waters of the Pacific Ocean has got to be one of the most dangerous. The brave men and women who undertake this type of commercial fishing definitely enjoy the inherent risks, not just the lucrative side of it. The adrenaline rush from pulling in a 500-pound marlin or tuna single-handedly has got to overshadow the profit, at least at that moment. Some of the people portrayed in Pacific Warriors have fishing experience in their genes, as Andy Cho, a fifth-generation fisherman does. Some, as Jason Valle, are new to kayak fishing, but familiar with the ocean through other activities, such as surfing and free-diving. A world-class free diver and chef, Kimi Werner takes the meaning of bravery to a whole new level – she spearfishes in the dangerous ocean, using her kayak as just a means of transportation.

However, the relationships within the kayak fishing community aren`t particularly smooth – there are long-standing rivalries between the families that are in the trade, and the conflicts between newcomers and natives. The exciting series is doing rather well ratings-wise with a 0,4 million viewers, but it`s too early to say whether these numbers will be enough for Discovery to warrant a renewal of Pacific Warriors for the second season.
