Basic info and cast
The Thundermans is an American superhero action and comedy TV series that pivots around a suburban family with superpowers. Created and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Jed Spingarn, season 1 of the show premiered on Nickelodeon on October 14, 2013. Season 4 debuted on October 22, 2016.
Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) and Max (Jack Griffo) are 15-year-old twins with opposite personalities and one secret — they, along with their parents and younger siblings, have superhero powers. The Thundermans follows Phoebe and Max as they try to live a normal life, navigate school and family obligations all while confronting a new family dynamic that could transform their lives forever. Both teens have the same superpowers — heat breath, freeze breath and telekinesis abilities. But while good-natured Phoebe uses her powers to do the right thing, her troublemaker brother Max is aspiring to become a super-villain. Season 4 of The Thundermans opened on Nickelodeon with a Halloween special “Happy Heroween”, and portrayed Colosso telling three spooky stories to the family at home, while a storm rages outside.
Viewership and potential renewal
Both of the series` leads – Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo – have been nominated for numerous awards, including the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2014 and 2015. In 2016 the show did even better, scoring a win in the Favorite TV Show category at the Nickelodeon Kids` Choice Awards. Averaging 1.1 million viewers per episode in season 3, and premiering to a solid audience of 1.96 million viewers with season four, the engaging show is apparently not losing any of its ratings momentum, and chances are strong that The Thundermans will make come back with season 5 sometime the future. Fans need to stay tuned for an official announcement from Nickelodeon.
