Series concept, cast and information
Created by Lauren Dolgen, Teen Mom 2 is an American reality TV series that follows the lives of four former participants of 16 and Pregnant reality series` second season as they become mothers and try to navigate life in their new role. The series has been on the air since 2011 and its seventh season premiered on MTV on March 21, 2016. It is created by Lauren Dolgen and produced by 11th Street Productions.
Jenelle, Chelsea, Kailyn and Leah have given birth to their children while they were still teenagers. Trying to juggle school, work, peer pressure, and their personal lives, they now also have a burden in the form of motherhood, for which they were not necessarily prepared. Parenthood is not a picnic for anyone, let alone for a teenager, who may not be able to handle the myriad of responsibilities children bring with them. Thankfully, the girls have their parents and friends to help them along the way. In the current season the young women are back to face the issues of motherhood and do their best to cope with them.
Although there hasn’t been any official news about the future of the series, it seems that shows like Teen Mom 2 are quite popular. The program premiered to an audience of 1.746 million viewers and a solid share of 1. With a steady audience count between of 1.5 – 2 million viewers, it is very possible that we will see Teen Mom 2 Season 8 some time in the near future.

UPDATED June 12, 2016: MTV`s popular reality series Teen Mom has been renewed for an eighth season. In fact, insiders say that filming never ended after the seventh season, which means that it`s been in production for a while, and might hit the screens in the near future. Chelsea, Leah, Kailyn and Jenelle are all expected to be back for the upcoming season, although Chelsea`s wedding will not be featured in the show per her request.
