Series info and storyline

Transparent is a highly acclaimed American comedy/drama television series that debuted on Amazon Video with its pilot episode on February 6, 2014. It is produced by Amazon Studios and executive produced by Jill Soloway and Andrea Sperling. The first season`s ten episodes were made available in September 2014, and the current third season began streaming in its entirety on September 23, 2016.

The series is created by Jill Soloway on the basis of her personal family experience. Transparent follows the life of a regular LA family that might not seem much out of the ordinary up until the time when the father of the family, Morton Pfefferman (Jeffrey Tambor) comes out as a transgender and becomes Maura Pfefferman. Mort/Maura`s ex-wife and three grown, yet immature and mostly unreasonable children are at the heart of the story, and they have to learn how to deal with the sudden transformation in their loved one`s life. The current third season starts with Maura receiving a suicide hotline telephone call from a young trans woman in a dire situation and driving out to South LA to look for her, only landing in the hospital herself.

On September 23, 2016 the third season of the mega popular Amazon comedy Transparent has wrapped up with an exciting final episode that featured a cruise trip that Maura, Shelly, Josh, Ali and Sarah decide to take. While on the ship, Maura reveals to Ali that she cannot transition any further, and the moment of acceptance is wonderful for both of them. Ali and Josh have a falling out after losing a significant amount of money at the blackjack table. Later the Pfeffermans manage to pull together a seder right on board, and share the feelings that they seek to be freed from. Shelly’s beautiful on-stage performance is the culmination of the intensely emotional season finale.
