Series background and plot
This American computer-animated TV-series follows the Shrek breakout star Puss in Boots on his adventure quest. The first season premiered on January 16, 2015 with five episodes, and further chapters were released in May and September. The 13-episode third season debuted on July 15, 2016. It is a DreamWorks Animation Television production, executive produced by Doug Langdale, and is broadcast on Netflix, which has recently been expanding its presence in a number of genres, including scripted comedy and anime.
Puss in Boots seems to target a younger children`s audience, unlike the Shrek franchise and the feature Puss in Boots film, which were more family-oriented. The cat is just as charming and courageous as he was, with a romantic interest in sweet Dulcinea. The plot might be somewhat simplistic, and the animation a bit clunky compared to the preceding films, but all in all the self-confident and endearing Puss` exploits in his search for justice are an enjoyable spectacle.
