About the series

No Offence is a British police procedural drama-comedy that follows a team of detectives from a fictional Manchester Metropolitan Police. The series has been airing on Channel 4 since its premiere on May 5, 2015 and was recently renewed for a second series.

Headed by no-nonsense boss D.I Viv Deering (played by Joanna Scanlan), a team of detectives investigate a gruesome murder and uncover a link that soon leads them to believe that girls with Down syndrome are the targets of a serial killer. Chock full of British wit and eclectic sense of humor, No Offence is written by Shameless writer Paul Abbott and executive produced by Martin Carr. Every line is crafted with punchy dialogue and unmistakable streak of Abbott’s understanding of the place, people, and the way they speak.

Ratings and possible renewal

Since it’s premiere episode, the series has been an instant hit with audiences. The series was received warmly by critics and ratings added up to an average of 2 million viewers per week in its first few episodes. Despite a slight dip toward the tail end, with 1.79 million tuning in for the season finale, Channel 4 still decided to renew No Offence for series 2. The second series is currently in development and is slated for an eight episode release sometime in 2016. We’ll keep fans updated on the premiere date of the series two as soon as it is announced.
