Viewership, reviews and renewal prospects
The Durrells premiered to an audience of 8.2 million viewers, and went down to 7.2 million viewers by the second episode. The show is rated 8.0/10 on IMDb, and boasts mostly positive critical reception praising the show as fun, heartwarming and liberating family story. The only frequent complaint is that according to some reviewers` opinions the show diverges too much from the novels that inspired it. That`s all a matter of taste, but the undemanding, well-acted and very entertaining Sunday series is apparently very popular and itherefore likely to be greenlit for another chapter. We will be sure to inform you of all further developments regarding The Durrells` future.
