Series concept and cast

An escapade by Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, a practicing minister, rap star, family man and television personality, Rev Runs Around the World is a reality television series that will follow Rev Run, his wife Justine and their children Russy and Miley on their unpredictable six-month round-the-globe trip. The sixteen-part show is produced by Departure Films and Simmons Lehman Productions

Rev Run has traveled the world extensively with his band over the years, but this experience is something else. With no pre-set itineraries, this is a fun and memorable experience to be cherished. Exploring new cultures, enjoying authentic international cuisine and activities unique to each spot, the family will grow even closer. They will visit 16 amazing cities around the world, including Tokyo, Istanbul, Geneva, Reykjavik, Rio and Copenhagen, among others.

Viewer reception and chances renewal

The series has all the ingredients for success – a recognizable star with a steady following, tight-knit family, good laughs, beautiful scenery, exotic food. Sounds perfect, but the reviews have not been particularly warm, perhaps because the Travel channel viewers are more into the travel part than the family fun and personal relationships. The viewership ratings are around 0.2 million, which does not look particularly inspiring in terms of a possible renewal. The network has not currently made any official statements in regard to the show`s fate.
