About the series
A new American panel investment/reality series, Blue Collar Backers, has premiered on May 18, 2016, and season 2 did not take too long to follow, debuting on August 26, 2016. It is produced by Leftfield Pictures. David George, Shawn Witt, C. Russell Muth and Matt Vafiadis serve as the executive producers on the show.
Over 500,000 businesses are launched in the United States every month, but, obviously, a very small portion of them survives. How do you distinguish an idea worth investing in from one that just sounds good in theory but would not work out in reality? You need to have the experience that the panel experts possess. Unlike other panel investment series, these frriendly top-rated professionals from different fields not only provide the money, they also share their own proven methods to make things work, industry tips and their personal real-life experiences with the aspiring businessmen.
Current season and possible renewal
This freshman season`s backers are back for season two: food truck fabricator Cameron Davies from San Antonio, Texas, self-made millionaire Ron Douglas, Arizona business partners Brian Stark and Wes James, and twins Cain and Cam Roberds from Biloxi, Mississippi. Regular banks are not too keen on small business loans, so the investments and advisory assistance from these experts is invaluable. Will the business opportunities pitched blossom into something real and profitable? There is no other way but to tune in and see how things develop. The second season premiered to 0.65 million viewers and a 0.16 demo rating, with much praise going to the format, which is much friendlier than Shark Tank, without the humiliating condescending remarks by the investors.
