Basic info and storyline
Shipping Wars is a reality TV series that follows the high stakes world of independent transportation carriers bidding on loads deemed unshippable in the world’s largest reverse online auction. Executive produced by David McKillop and Elaine Frontain Bryant, the series has been airing on A&E since its premie on January 10, 2012 and is currently in its seventh season.
There’s lots of money to be made hauling loads that traditional companies won’t carry. That’s why independent carriers enter into Shipping Wars, bidding for jobs on uShip, an online platform built as a reverse auction. Potential clients decide who to hire based on feedback from previous clients and successful projects. Hauling everything from Soviet era jets and sci-fi movie props, to peacocks and geese decoys, the long haul journey ends with a reveal at the end of the episode of each carrier’s net profits or losses.
