About the show and cast

Impractical Jokers UK is the British adaptation of the eponymous US hidden-camera reality series that revolves around practical jokes on unsuspecting people. The first two installments aired on BBC Three in 2012 and 2014, and in April 2015 Comedy Central and Channel 5 commissioned another series of the program, which premiered on August 2, 2016. The show is narrated by Matt Edmondson and produced by Yalli Productions.

The original comedians from the BBC Three times have all been replaced, and the cast currently consists of Lee Griffiths, Matt Ralph, Paul Biggin and David Moon, who have known each other for over a decade and worked together previously. The program features pranks played by the cast members on people in public places – parks, shopping centers, streets. The comedians wear a hidden camera and a mic, and have to compete among themselves for the best result of the round. The losing joker has to undergo embarrassing punishment, which is always far less pleasant than the original pranks.

Reception and chances of renewal

The current series is set to contain nine half-hour episodes, and it has yet to be seen whether it manages to match the popularity of the original American version. The brilliant chemistry between the pranksters has already been noted, and the elaborate challenges have also earned a memorable mention. Impractical Jokers UK has not been renewed for another series yet, so we are eagerly awaiting a relevant network announcement.
