About the show and cast

Borderline is a new British mockumentary sitcom created and written by Chris Gau and Michael Orton-Toliver. It is executive produced by Gau, Orton-Toliver, Ralf Little and Sarah Doole and produced by Little Rock Pictures. The first series has debuted on August 2, 2016 and is comprised of six half-hour episodes.

The show is centered on border immigration officials serving their duty at a fictional UK airport of Northend. A notable feature of the production is the fact that Borderline is “retro-scripted”, with dialogue and action scenes improvised by the actors based on a detailed plot outline provided to them. Alexander Aguila (Alfredo), David Ballam (Agent David Bort), Wilmer Calderon (Diego), Erick Chavarria (Chu Chu), Amaris Dupree (Agent Lopez), Eric Curtis Johnson (Agent Bob Dill) are among the key cast members.

Ratings, warm reception and potential renewal

Borderline is one example of Channel 5`s attempted foray into the comedy realm, together with Impractical Jokers UK that was launched simultaneously. Critics have been kind to the fledgling series, hoping for renewal and further development. The show`s praised for excellent acting, funny and courageous exploration of UK`s contradictory immigration policy and issues of racism and ignorance. The show has a 7.1/10 IMDb score, and we are hoping for another series. Stay tuned and we`ll bring you the latest news on the future of the show.
