Series format and basic info

A groundbreaking obstacle course competition series SAS: Who Dares Wins started airing its five-episode first series in the UK on Channel 4 in October 2015. The series is produced by Minnow Films, executive produced by Colin Barr and narrated by Shaun Dooley. The second series debuted on October 17, 2016 with six new episodes.

A crew of five Special Forces veterans puts civilian participants through the same exhilarating selection process that SAS uses to recruit its future members. All of its stages are draining emotionally, physically and psychologically and take place over the course of eight days in isolation from the outside world. The adrenaline-filled episodes reveal the qualities that are crucial to making it to the Special Forces training program. In the second grueling installment Ant and his crew of ex-Special Ops instructors will take a new set of contestants into the jungle.

Current season, viewership and renewal

The series premiere was broadcast with very impressive viewership of 1.7 million people and an 8% share of the audience, as 30 candidates went through a grueling interview process, only beginning to realize what they’ve gotten themselves into. Series 2 opened with an impressive audience of 1.85 million viewers. Over the course of the series it became quite clear that while physical prowess and robustness are certainly required, they are nothing without the strength of character, which is the real key to success. SAS: Who Dares Wins has already scored a nomination for Best Popular, Factual and Features at the Royal Television Society UK for its first series.
