Series info and concept
Still Alive is a survival-related documentary series that was launched on September 14, 2016 on Discovery Channel. It hails from Beyond Productions and is executive produced by John Lushcombe, Andrew Farrell and Christo Doyle.
The one-hour episodes of Still Alive feature survivalists’ recollections of their extreme experiences in the wilderness. These chilling stories range from being chased by a bear or stalked by a shark to being in the midst of a tornado or an avalanche, and these memories come alive in the unique digital video footage from body cameras that these brave people managed to make while hanging between life and death.
Viewership and chances of renewal
0.54 million viewers tuned in to see the premiere episode of the documentary program which is a decent, but not a stellar number. The series premiered with a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demo, and the following week it went down a tad to 0.17, while the viewership actually rose to 0.641 million. No news have been revealed by Discovery regarding a potential second season of Still Alive, but there seems to be a fair chance of the show returning with another installment. The incredible opportunity to observe these death-defying incidents through the eyes of the people who made it through is exciting and inspiring, and is a curious by-product of the digital age. Please stay tuned, and we will let you know when Discovery makes a decision on the future of Still Alive.
