About the show
Milwaukee Blacksmith is a new original reality series that premiered on August 23, 2016 on History. Charlie DeBevoise, Mark Hickman and Jim Pasquarella serve as executive producers on the program, which hails from NorthSouth Productions.
The show features the expert blacksmith work of Kent Knapp and his sons, the four eldest of his six children, who took up the family trade. Their works range from bank vaults to bicycle frames, and the 5,000-year-old trade is kept alive by the Knapp family on the well-aged equipment at their shop. The series’ production schedule put extra pressure on the Knapps’ already tight schedule, with what regularly would have been a three-month project having to be squeezed into a week, and so on.
