About the show
Aussie Gold Hunters is a new docuseries airing on Discovery, which is produced by Electric Pictures Pty Ltd and Aussia Gold Documentary Pty Ltd. The show is produced by Andrew Ogilvie and directed by Roger Power. The first series premiered on September 15, 2016 with eight one-hour episodes.
Gold mining is big with television audiences all over the world, with shows like the American hit Gold Rush attracting amazing amounts of viewers, and Australia is now pitching in with a good deal of local spirit in Aussie Gold Hunters. The three prospecting crews are: Christine and Greg Clark, aka the Gold Gypsies, who have abandoned their careers six years ago in order to mine gold, best mates Vernon Strange and Leon Marsh, aka the Dirt Dogs, and Kellie Carter and Henri Chassaing.
Current series and chances of renewal
The gold prospecting crews are under constant pressure to make the best of the season, but their work is continuously hindered by unforgiving weather and various unpredictable incidents that occur during the mining season on the Goldfields. Gold mining is a staple in Australia since the very beginning of its colonization by European settlers, and the risks have always been great for the prospectors. The hardcore gold mining teams function in an all or nothing mode, and there’s plenty of emotional drama as well as actual search for gold nuggets. The inspiring series may very well go into another installment with its articulate and energetic cast members. Stay tuned for relevant news.
