Series info and format

Australia’s Next Top Model is a part of the hit international Next Top Model franchise that is produced by Shine Australia. It has been airing on Fox8 since 2005, and has recently kicked off its 10th series on September 20, 2016. The show’s created by Tyra Banks.

Alex Perry is the veteran judge who’s been on the show since day one, and Jennifer Hawkins and Megan Gal join him on the judge panel in the current tenth series, which started off with 13 hopeful participants contending for the highly coveted title. The mentors this season are Cheyenne Tozzi, Jordan Stenmark and Zac Stenmark, and Erika Heynatz is the presenter.

Current season and potential renewal

The current tenth series opened to 65,000 total viewers, ranking #3 among subscription channels programs on the night of its broadcast, and slipped to 43,000 for the next episode. The show is reasonably popular, like the other Next Top Model programs, and engages the audience with its detailed portrayal of what it takes to be a model – and it certainly takes more than just looks. There is a degree of cattiness among the young women, but the show is generally perceived as positive and entertaining. There’s definitely a niche for Australia’s Next Top Model, and while it has not been renewed for an 11th series yet, it will probably be commissioned, so please stay tuned for announcements.
