Basic info and summary

Silicon Valley is a comedy series that pivots on the business and personal adventures of six young guys who found a startup company in Silicon Valley. Created by Mike Judge, John Alschuler and Dave Krinsky, the first season consisted of just eight episodes which debuted on HBO on April 6, 2014. season 2 was released on April 12, 2015 and Silicon Valley season 3 premiered on April 24, 2016.

Richard Hendricks, played by Thomas Middleditch, is a shy and reclusive programmer who works at a giant internet company call Hooli. After a series of rough patches in his career, he pitches a new music app that he’s helped develop within a startup incubator to his company, and is offered several multi million dollar deals. Rounding out the cast of Silicon Valley is Josh Brener who stars as Nelson “Big Head” Bighetti, Martin Starr portrays Bertram Gilfoyle, T.J. Miller as Erlich Bachman, and Kumail Nanjiani as Dinesh Chugtai.

The show has been positively received by viewers and audiences alike. Since its premiere two years ago, Silicon Valley has maintained a steady stream of positive ratings and reviews. Scoring a 94% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has also received a universal acclaim ratings on Metacritic. Nominated for several awards, including the Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Awards, Silicon Valley scooped up a Best Comedy Series win and Best Supporting Actor at the Critics’ Choice TV Awards. Riding the wave of popularity, Silicon Valley was renewed for a fourth season prior to the third season premiere on April 24, 2016.

Season 3 recap

The 10-episode third season of HBO`s popular comedy Silicon Valley has concluded on June 26, 2016. The season wrapped up with the viewership at 2.04 million, which is a season high. The ratings for the whole season were perfectly consistent with the previous seasons, not giving in an inch. Silicon Valley season three ended on a positive note, as its final episode, The Uptick, features Erlich`s savvy plan to save Pied Piper from disaster working out rather well. Meanwhile, a 9-ton dead elephant becomes the reason for Patrice getting fired by Belson, Richard discover`s Jared`s clickfarm operation, Monica joins the team after being fired by Laurie and Big Head and Erlich become the new owners of Pied Piper. The series has already been renewed for a fourth installment prior to the third season premiere, and now, after the third season has come to an end, HBO has no reason to regret its early renewal decision.
