New sitcom – production info and storyline
A new sitcom launched by CBS on October 24, 2016, Man with a Plan was created and executive produced by Jackie and Jeff Filgo with Matt LeBlanc, Michael Rotenberg and Troy Zien. It was picked up for a full season containing 19 episodes three weeks after its initial premiere. The series is produced by Double Double Bonus Entertainment, 3 Arts Entertainment and CBS Television Studios.
A stay-home dad Adam Burns (Matt LeBlanc) is up to find out what parenting is really look like when his wife Andi (Liza Snyder) goes back to work, leaving him to take care of their three kids. Soon enough things get out of control, and the kids are pleading for their mom`s return.
Viewership numbers and mixed reviews
The series premiered attracting 7.42 million viewers and earning a 1.6 demo rating in the 18-49 demo, and is currently averaging just above the 6 million mark. The reviews, however, are mixed, leaning towards negative, with scores like 38% on Metacritic and 21% on Rotten Tomatoes, although the typically kinder IMDb reviewers gave it a median score of 6.5/10. Man with a Plan is criticized for its unimaginative writing and unimpressive acting, but enough viewers are apparently considering in entertaining enough to be tuning in.
