About the series
Martha & Snoop`s Potluck Party is a VH1 variety/cooking show that debuted on November 7, 2016. It is produced by Sequential Brands Group, Merry Jane, 495 Productions and VH1 with Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Kim Miller Olko, Ted Chung, SallyAnn Salsano, Nina L. Diaz, Trevor Rose, Paul Ricci, Fernando Mills and Paula Aranda serving as executive producers.
Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg cook dinner, host weekly dinner parties and invite their celebrity friends to hang out. The likes of Seth Rogen, Rick Ross, Ashley Graham, 50 Cent, Naya Rivera, Wiz Khalifa have already appeared on the newly introduced fun show that is resonating very well with the viewers.
Unexpected popularity and early renewal
Potluck Dinner premiered solidly at 1.679 million viewers with an 0.87 demo rating. In the following week the show lost some of the rating, going down to 0.76, and remained strong with an audience of 1.523 million viewers. The show`s viewership doubles in the L+3 ratings, where it goes up to 3 million total viewers. Much of its huge success is a surprise, since it works more as a late-night show than a cooking program. The unlikely pairing of the iconic homemaker Martha Stewart and famous rapper Snoop Dogg has also proven a great decision. The show was renewed for a second season just two episodes into its freshman installment in light of its ratings success and the buzz that it has created.
