About the series
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip is the celebrity version of the popular British series Antiques Road Trip. It is a BBC production that is broadcast on BBC Two since 2010. The show is executive produced by Wendy Rattray and Andrew Robertson and produced by STV Productions. The current sixth series was launched on November 14, 2016 with Tim Wonnacott as the narrator.
In the original show two antique experts face off in searching for antique and collectible treasures over five legs of auctions on a pre-set budget. The celebrity version follows a similar format, but it features celebrities paired up with a rotating cast of antique experts in a similar competition, with the difference being that each episode is a self-contained competition, so the celebrities are featured in only one episode each. Whatever money is left over from the initial budget is given to the Children in Need charity fund at the end of each episode.
Current series cast and renewal prospects
The current sixth series already introduced an extensive celebrity roster, which includes Suzannah Lipscomb, Kate Williams, John Stapleton, Lynn Faulds Wood, Tanni Grey-Thompson, Jade Jones, Tony Singh and Cyrus Todiwala, among others. The show has a 6.5/10 IMDb score, and enjoys steady popularity with its fan following.
