Series storyline and information

Fauda (Chaos in Arabic) is an Israeli political and action thriller that was originally released in 2015, and is currently distributed by Netflix beginning on December 2, 2016. The series was developed by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff who have created the story based on their own experience in the IDF`s Duvdevan special unit. The series hails from Tender Productions and is produced by Liat Benasuly and Maria Feldman.

The first 12-episode season follows Doron, a commander of an undercover Israeli Army special unit tasked with catching a fictional Hamas activist and terrorist Abu-Ahmed. The story depicts both sides of the tragic Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and treats everyone`s motivations with understanding and respect, delving deep into the underlying reasons for the ongoing battle.

Excellent reception and renewal

Fauda has been very well reviewed both initially, when it earned six Ophir Awards (the most coveted Israeli film awards), and following its launch on Netflix, when it earned a top-notch rating of 8.7/10. It has been lauded for its realism, the use of Arabic language, the empathy that both sides evoked, as well as for being really well-made and gripping. According to the series` creators, the show has already been renewed for a second season, which will concentrate on more global issues and draw from contemporary events. The upcoming installment of Fauda is likely to be ready by the end of the summer of early fall of 2017, although whether it will be available on Netflix is still unclear.
