About the series

Ice is a new American criminal drama series that hails from Entertainment One and Fuqua Films, and is executive produced by Antoine Fuqua (who directed the pilot) and Robert Munic (who is the actor on the series). The freshman season of the high-impact drama contains ten one-hour episodes.

The dangerous underbelly of the highly competitive diamond trade business in Los Angeles is revealed in the explosive thriller that follows the Green family. Jake (Cam Gigandet) and Freddy (Jeremy Sisto) are half-brothers and sons of Isaak (Raymond J. Barry), the owner of G&G Diamonds. When Freddy kills a major diamond dealer, Jake is tasked with saving him, and preventing their family company from falling into the hands of a major local criminal lord (Judith Shakone).

Criticism and chances of renewal

With a solid 7.2/10 IMDb score, the show has, nonetheless, garnered average reviews. The critics claim that there are not enough family dynamics portrayed on the screen for a show that`s supposed to center on a family business, and, on the other hand, there are too much rather repetitive criminal and otherwise questionable activities – fights, murders, illicit sex, drugs, and so on. A more positive example of a perfectly balanced mix of crime and family interests would be Sopranos, and, obviously, Ice does not quite match the success or the compelling quality of the hit mafia-related series. Whether or not the second season is in the cards for the show is still unclear, so please stay tuned, and we will keep you up on the news.
