About the series

Criminals at Work is new American crime documentary television series that premiered on BET on January 6, 2016. It is produced by Sirens Media and executive produced by Rebecca Toth Diefenbach, Valerie Haselton, Brent Montgomery and Christine Nusbaum. The series is set to contain eight one-hour episodes.

Each of the episodes portrays two real-life stories where criminal acts are committed right in the workplace. Eyewitness accounts, some reenactments along with true-to-life video footage – all of these seem to hint at the fact that none of us know our workmates well enough. Criminals at Work also feature interviews with the law enforcement officers who were involved in the investigation and journalists who covered the story. None of these crimes were committed by a professional perpetrator, the criminals portrayed here could be your co-workers, which certainly provides part of the fascination.

Ratings and renewal prospects

The premiere episode of Criminals at Work attracted just over 0.5 million viewers to the screen, with a 0.24 rating in the P18-49 demographic, and by the third episode the ratings have slid down further to 0.353 million viewers and a 0.15 rating in the P18-49 demo. The series has a rather amazing IMDb rating of 9.2/10 but it`s based on a mere 6 reviews, so it is not necessarily an accurate reflection of viewers` preferences. The ratings are unimpressive, but there is still a chance that the show will pick up a bit and show better results.
