Sundance TV officially canceled The Red Road Season 3

This article has the most up-to-date info on the status of The Red Road Season 3 as we continuously monitor the news to keep you in the know. Unfortunately, Sundance TV has officially canceled the series. There will be no Season 3.

About the series

Created by Aaron Guzikowski, The Red Road is an American drama television series that follows the life of a New Jersey police officer, as he tries to keep his family together, while dealing with a dangerous Native American tribe that has found refuge in the neighboring mountains. A SundanceTV original series, The Red Road season 2 premiered on April 2, 2015.

Harold Jensen has had quite a negative streak – his wife is a recovering alcoholic and schizophrenic, who has self-medicated herself for quite some time. At the same time he’s come into a conflict with a federally unrecognized tribe member and ex-con who threatens to disrupt the peace of a small town across the Hudson from New York City. Throughout the series, Jensen tries to not compromise his principles that are torn apart by polarized views of his home town, all while tending to his wife and keeping his family together.

Current season, ratings and renewal chances

Although The Red Road has received largely positive reviews and scores 66% on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, as well as 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb, the producers decided to not go forward and canceled the series after the second season. Fans can still catch the show on online streaming sites, but unless producers have a change of heart, Red Road season 3 will not be returning to SundanceTV.
