Series` background and plot

An American flash-animated action/comedy children`s TV series based on the 2013 computer-animated Turbo movie, Turbo FAST (Fast Action Stunt Team) premiered on Netflix on February 5, 2016 with its third season. The original series premiere took place on December 24, 2013. It is executive produced by Jack Thomas and Chris Prynoski, and is produced for Netflix by DreamWorks Animation Television, a brand new production unit that cropped up when a five-year deal was struck between DreamWorks and Netflix. Each episode consists of 2 eleven-minute stories.

The plot takes up where the Turbo film left off, and features the lead character, a snail name Turbo and his friends going off to Starlight City wherein they learn new stunts and compete with their antagonists. Aside from Ken Jeong and Mike Bell, the voices behind Kim Ly and White Shadow in the film, the rest of the voice cast is new. Reid Scott vocalizes Turbo, John Eric Bentley is Whiplash, Grey DeLisle-Griffin is the voice behind Burn, Eric Bauza is Chet and Amir Talai is Skidmark.

Renewal prospects

Since Netflix is not eager to share its viewership numbers, it`s difficult to determine whether the series, the first original children`s show on Netflix, is garnering enough support to warrant a renewal for yet another season. The previous two seasons obviously brought in a satisfactory number of viewers, so we just have to wait for a renewal or a cancelation announcement.
