Ratings and renewal prospects

Wynonna Earp premiered to 800,000 viewers in the US. It has garnered generally positive reviews, and has a mostly favorable Metascore of 68/100 and a 5.6/10 IMDb rating. The show is praised for being fast-paced, Wynonna is delightful, sassy, strong and independent, and the familiar elements that show through the fabric of the narrative are combined in a new manner that does not make them look tired and annoying. There seems to be a very good chance of the show being renewed, but there`s been no word either way, so please stay tuned for further information.

Season 1 recap

The 13-episode freshman season of Wester/mystery/horror series Wynonna Earp has concluded on June 24, 2016 on SyFy. Viewers have been very keen on the program, and are demanding a renewal from the network. The show as a whole garnered a lot of praise and the dynamic season finale made quite a splash. There were many bombshells dropped in the last episode, such as Bobo claiming that Waverly is just not an Earp, a statement that left the viewers wondering. In another development, Willa is killed by Dolls because of her own treachery. The final episode is packed with action and cliffhangers, our format does not allow for a comprehensive recap. In an interview after the broadcast has ended Emily Andras, the series showrunner, has not confirmed the series` renewal for a second season, and has asked the fans to keep expressing their appreciation of the show by all means, so that SyFy responds by renewing this smart, edgy gem for another run. Unfortunately the ratings, for some reason, have not been very high, which makes the future very foggy for this excellent series. Wynonna Earp has premiered to 801,000 viewers and a 0.2 demo rating, but subsequently lost a lot of its audience and went out with a slumping 447,000 and a 0.14 rating. Let`s hope for the best and stay tuned for network announcements.
