About the series
The Story of God with Morgan Freeman is a new US documentary television series that debuted on National Geographic Channel on April 3, 2016. The series is executive produced by Freeman, Lori McCreary and james Younger and produced by National Geographic Channel and Revelations Entertainment. The six-part series is narrated by Morgan Freeman.
A series with a perfectly revealing title, The Story of God features exploration of various religions and cultures, with the premiere episode exploring their take on the subject of afterlife. The rapid scientific progress and the vector towards “digital resurrection” was also discussed. Throughout the course of the series Freeman travels to 20 cities in seven different countries in his search for answers about the very core of our beliefs. The second episode focuses on the different versions of the apocalyptic prophecies as portrayed in different religions.
Ratings and renewal prospects
The show has a 7.7/10 IMDb score, with viewership numbers going through the roof. The Story of God has scored 3.5 million viewers in the Live+3 Nielsen ratings, and a 1.1 demo rating in the 25-54 group, which made it the fourth highest-ranked program of all time on the National Geographic Channel, and the top show of 2016 so far.
