Southern Justice is an American reality series that portrays law enforcement officers` work in Sullivan County, Tennessee and Ashe County, North Carolina. The series is narrated by Dave Hoffman, executive produced by Jimmy Fox, Jim Lindsay, Benjamin Silverman, Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein. Electus and Weinstein Company are behind the production. Season 4 of Southern Justice has premiered on April 20, 2016 on National Geographic.
The Blue Ridge Mountain area in the Appalachians is notorious for its concentration of guns, drugs and alcohol, as well as people who need to be constantly reminded of the constraints of the law.
Reviews, ratings and renewal potential
The fourth season of Southern Justice has premiered to a very decent-sized audience of 795,000 viewers and a share of 0.2 in the 18-49 demographic. It has an 8.5/10 IMDb score, and is reviewed in a generally positive manner. The officers` polite and sympathetic manner of interacting with the public as they respond to routine calls, and the insight into the area-specific social issues is appealing to the public. Even though National Geographic has considering drifting away from law enforcement-themed programming, the solid ratings of Southern Justice brought the series in for another season after rumors of cancelation in December 2015. Whether or not it will be enough to carry it into yet another season remains to be seen, but as of now, it`s not ceding ground in the ratings department.
