Shipping Wars UK is a British reality series that was adapted from the US program format and follows it closely. The series premiered in 2014, and its second season has debuted on May 2, 2016 on Channel 4. Craig Kelly is the narrator for the series which is produced by Megalomedia.
Shipping Wars UK features truckers who transport various types of cargo – from the usual to the most outlandish, such as huge Gruffalo statues, rare racing cars and massive numbers of live bees. The cast members featured on the show are: Laurie Bartram, Stu and Jemma, Raymond and Grant, Russell Oliver, Rolf and Rachel and Shabaz Khalid. Each team and driver has their preferences as far as cargo goes, each has a distinct style and personality.
Viewership and chances of renewal
In the current season the cast members are grappling with a dragon statue, tropical trees, stained glass windows, a giant fish statue, live crabs and a lot of other unexpected things, some of which would seem un-shippable at first glance, but the experienced and daring truckers aren`t afraid to take on the craziest jobs.
The pilot attracted over 1 million viewers, and the show was commissioned for a full series of 45-minute episodes. The series seems to be popular, but there has been no news regarding the future plans for Shipping Wars UK, so please stay tuned and we`ll keep you informed.
