Show info and storyline
Atomic Puppet is a new animated comedy series created by Jerry Leibowitz and Mark Drop. It hails from Mercury Filmworks, Technicolor Entertainment Services France SAS and Gaumont Animation SA. John Derevlary and Brad Birch are developing the series, and Travis Williams, Thierry Rivard and Heath Kenny serve as executive producers. The first chapter of the show premiered on May 27, 2016 on Disney XD.
Atomic Puppet features Captain Antonio, a superhero who is turned into a super-powered puppet by his evil sidekick Nuclear Boy (a.k.a. Nukey). And it turns out, Captain Atomic`s hugest fan, 12-year-old Joey Felt, is the only one who has the power to activate Captain Atomic`s powers with his hand. Even though he is annoyed by it, Atomic Puppet is forced to learn to interact with Joey, since he has no control of his own actions. Together they have to protect Model City from Nukey and restore Captain Atomic`s former glory.
Ratings and renewal potential
The show has premiered to 192,000 viewers and a 0.02 rating in the 18-49 demo. Atomic Puppet`s ratings in the target demos is not available at the moment, but they are obviously much higher, since the show targets children. It is a fun fantasy and adventure series that airs internationally on various Disney XD channels and on TELETOON in Canada. No news of a second season renewal has come our way, but we will monitor network announcements closely and let you know as soon as any decisions are revealed.
