Show hosts and premise

Ghosts of Shepherdstown is a brand new paranormal investigation docu-series airing on Destination America. It Is a MAK Pictures production, with Mark Kadin, Tucia Lyman, Will Ehbrecht, Sarah Helman and Christine Shuler serving as executive producers. The series has premiered on June 12, 2016.

The paranormal investigative team consists of Nick Groff, Elizabeth Saint and Bill Hartley. Nick is a film-maker and book author who has survived a near-death experience as a child, and is a firm believer in the afterlife. Elizabeth has a degree in electrical engineering, and has been struck by lightning on two occasions, which makes for a multi-dimensional relationship with electricity. She conducts personal investigations around Colorado using gadgets that she engineered herself under the brand Ghostly Gadgets. Bill has also been exposed to the paranormal since his childhood. He is the founder of the Greater Maryland Paranormal Society, but advocates a balanced point of view, retaining some skepticism regarding their haunted locations.

Current season and renewal potential

Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is considered the most haunted town in the United States, and most of the 1,750 residents have met with the supernatural in one form or the other. The six-part series currently averages approximately 0.45 million viewers per episode, alternating between 0.1 and 0.2 demo rating. Whether or not the show has enough spark to last beyond the first season, whether it has enough character that sets it of against the many paranormal investigation programs on various channels remains to be seen, and we will be sure to monitor network announcements and keep you informed.

On July 17, 2016 the broadcast of the six-part freshman season of Ghosts of Shepherdstown has wrapped up. The series has become a hit, delivering the networks best ever ratings in the P25-54 demo in the L+3 estimates with 0,441 million viewers. It is also Destination America’s most watched freshman installment in the history of the network, with a 0,735 million viewers average for the season. The final episode of the paranormal investigation series scored 0.799 million viewers. The second season of Ghosts of Shepherdstown has not yet been commissioned, but with excellent ratings like it has garnered and the trending popularity of paranormal-related programs on television, there are practically no doubts that we will see more of Nick Groff, Elizabeth Saint and Bill Hartley teaming up to bring more of the chilling excitement to the small screen.
